Whether it’s market corrections, social upheaval, or competitive threats, the work environment of the 21st century is anything but predictable — resulting in fatigue, burnout, employee turnover, and hiring deficits.
While these challenges are impacting every industry, they have been felt even more acutely in healthcare. With a global pandemic straining systems and natural disasters occurring with greater frequency and intensity, healthcare organizations have grappled to retain and recruit top talent.
So, what can we do to create the conditions for success amidst this new normal? Join us for an impactful and informative online discussion to learn how HIOBS’s healthcare partners are equipping current and future team members with the skills, tenacity, and compassion to persevere.

ANDREW SPOFFORD Director, Outward Bound Professional Hurricane Island Outward Bound School
Andrew’s introduction to Hurricane Island Outward Bound School came by way of a transformational snowshoe expedition with classmates in 1989. After a 20-year career in more traditional business and technology consulting roles, his desire for a more personally meaningful, people-oriented mission brought him back to HIOBS as the Director of Outward Bound Professional, where he enjoys the privilege of partnering with organizations intent on helping individuals and teams reach their full potential.
Dr. Omar Hasan is Chief Quality Officer at MaineHealth where he leads an inter-professional team in developing and implementing a system-wide approach to improving clinical quality, patient safety, and patient and family experience. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President at the American Medical Association and as Medical Director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is an internal medicine physician with extensive clinical and administrative experience, is fellowship trained in health services research and clinical quality improvement, and holds master’s degrees in healthcare management and epidemiology from Harvard University.
JAIME NICOLE AUDET, MBA VP, HR Operations & Rewards Northern Light Health
Jaime Audet is the Vice President of HR Operations and Rewards at Northern Light Health and has been in Human Resources within the organization for 13 years. In her roles, she has been part of and has led teams through many changes and challenges, some seismic. Healthcare is an industry filled with individuals who are mission-driven and whole-heartedly committed to their work, which is something that Jaime feels strongly must be kept top of mind as the constantly shifting healthcare landscape is navigated -- burnout happens all too easily. Jaime is passionate about access to healthcare services in rural areas and fighting back against the stigma associated with both mental health and substance use. She is proud to have been born and raised in Washington County, Maine, has two 17-year-old boys, names her pets after her favorite people and places, and has a (mostly) healthy obsession with football and fashion.
ALLAN CINTRÓN SALICHS, MBA, MHCM Executive Director Med Centro, Inc.
Since 2006, Allan Cintron Salichs has served as Executive Director of Med Centro, Inc., a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) and community-based not-for-profit organization encompassing 12 healthcare sites across southern Puerto Rico. With an operational budget of $110 million dollars per year, Med Centro’s 490 employees serve a baseline of 50,819 unduplicated patients, annually (UDS Report 2023). In addition to his two Master degrees – one in Business Administration and the other in Health Care Management -- Allan counts a two-week sailing expedition with the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in 1989 amongst his formative leadership experiences.
